Counting it, it’s been a while since I went to the comic convention.
But if you ask me what my identity is…
Photographer? Sort of.
Philatelist? Also.
2D fan? This should be more accurate.
With the camera hanging and the phone in my pocket, I can’t help but stop when I see a good Cosplay.
This time, I went to the Fuzhou 15th Chao You Ci Yuan Animation Carnival.
The exhibition was held from July 24 to 26, 2026, and the venue was still the familiar Fuzhou Haixi International Exhibition Center.
Departure, Goal: Photography + Philately

Photographing, strolling, and collecting stamps all at once.
You never know who you might run into in the next corner of the venue.
My Daily Life at the Comic Convention
“Teacher, can I take some photos?”
“Teacher, can I collect a stamp!”
“Thank you, teacher!”
“Teacher, look at this”
“Teacher, do you need a reverse photo? Add my WeChat”
This sentence feels like it’s almost become a fixed phrase for photographers.
But I’m actually not just here to take photos
Although I always carry a camera and look like a photographer.
But I think I’m more like an ordinary comic convention fan.
Because I also like collecting stamps.
Take a photo with a teacher I recognize;
take a photo with a Cosplay I like;
take a photo with a teacher I’ve seen before.
Sometimes it’s not even for the sake of taking pictures.
It’s just that:
“Oh, I’ve met them again.”
So take a photo to leave a memory.

I think this is also one of the interesting things about the comic convention.
Years later, when you look back at these photos, you might not remember what specifically happened that day.
But when you see the photos, you still remember:
“Oh, I’ve been to this comic convention.”
“I think I spent the whole day taking photos here that day.”
“The teacher was still here then.”
This feeling is actually pretty good.
Various Moments in the Comic Convention
What I like most about the comic convention is not necessarily the stage or guests.
Sometimes it’s just some very ordinary little moments.
Coser who is arranging their wig on the roadside.
Visitors carrying pain packages around.
People who dare to ask for a photo for the first time.
And photographers who are carrying cameras and looking for angles in the crowd.
These things together make up the comic convention in my mind.

Guests, Signings, and Stages
This Chao You comic convention also had many guests and activities.
For ordinary visitors, guest signings are also a very interesting part of the comic convention.
Some people come just to see their favorite teachers.
Some people prepare notebooks, postcards, or merchandise.
Some people queue for a long time just to say a few words.

The Comic Convention is actually a very wonderful place
In everyday life, everyone might be quite ordinary.
Working.
Studying.
Writing code.
Overtime.
Rushing to the subway.
Then, at the comic convention.
Suddenly, everyone starts to become the characters they like.
Some people are wearing luxurious Cosplay costumes.
Some people are dragging pain packages around.
Some people are holding huge plush toys.
Some people are running around with cameras.
And some people dare to take photos with Cosers for the first time.
The people in the entire venue seem to have默认ed something:
Today, we can do a little bit of what we wouldn’t normally do.

It doesn’t have to have any special meaning.
Sometimes it’s just for a day of fun.
Take some photos.
Look at Cosplay.
Buy some favorite things.
Chat with people with the same hobbies.
Completely living in an Utopian world.
Some Photos Taken This Time

Last
I’m actually not a particularly professional comic convention photographer.
More often, I’m just an ordinary person who likes to bring a camera to the comic convention.
Take photos of the characters I like.
Take photos of the teachers I recognize.
Take photos of the beautiful scenes.
Chat with friends, and collect some stamps.
For me, the comic convention might just be like this.
Photography is just my way of recording the comic convention.
And the photos are the things left behind after I’ve attended these comic conventions.
I might still go to many more comic conventions in the future.
And I might meet many new teachers, new friends, and new Cos.
The camera will continue to be carried.
Whether I can take any particularly amazing works…
This is just left to chance.
After all, for me:
Being able to enjoy a day of shopping, take the photos I like, and successfully collect stamps.
That’s a very good comic convention.
ps: More photos are posted on the same Douyin platform, so they won’t be posted on the blog.
Next comic convention, see you there.
