This trip was to one of the legendary “Top Ten Most Beautiful Islands in China,” Wushan Island.

Landing on the Island
At first, the weather was actually quite good.

I walked and stopped along the way, took photos wherever I liked.
Climbing the Mountain
At the foot of the mountain, the weather actually seemed okay.
But as the altitude increased, the surroundings gradually began to turn white.
The distant mountains became unclear.
The sea was also invisible.
Even when walking to some places, things a few dozen to twenty meters ahead began to become blurred.
At first, it was just a bit of mist, but later it turned into “fog locked at the top of the mountain.”
After reaching the top, the distant view was basically gone, and that day the wind was especially strong, howling
I should have been able to see a distant sea, but it was all blocked by the white fog.
Standing there, I even felt like: “Am I in the clouds?”
Of course, not seeing the complete view of the mountains and sea was a bit of a regret.
After all, it’s not often that one comes to Wushan Island, and I really wanted to see the magnificent sea views in the photos online.
I didn’t see a single one of those “standing on the top of the mountain overlooking the sea” scenes.

Going to the Beach
After reaching the beach, it felt completely different.
The sea breeze made me feel much more comfortable.
Compared to the top of the mountain, the beach is more suitable for staying slowly.
There’s no need to rush to any attractions, and there’s no need to keep holding a camera.

Watching the Sunset
In the evening, we were preparing to wait for the sunset.
At this time, I was actually already looking forward to it.
Thinking that although I didn’t see the complete sea view from the top of the mountain during the day, I should see a sunset at night, right?
But the result… the clouds came again.
As the sun slowly sank, the sky was blocked by the clouds.
I could see a little light from the sunset, but the “sun setting on the sea level” scene I imagined still didn’t happen.
Under the Tree Shade
There is a fortress bar on the island, where many young people sing and drink at night.
Feeling the sea breeze, chatting, looking at the sea beside me.
At that moment, it was particularly relaxed and comfortable.
Traveling is sometimes like that.
You don’t have to go to many places, and you don’t have to arrange every minute full of activities.
Sometimes, just sit under a tree, blow the sea breeze for a while, and it’s already very relaxing.

Return Trip
The thick fog at the top of the mountain prevented me from seeing the complete view of the mountains and sea of Wushan Island.
The evening clouds blocked the sunset I had been looking forward to.
Traveling is not always possible to encounter the best weather, nor is it always possible to see the “best angle” in the photos online.
Some travels don’t have to be perfect.
